The absolute best way to spend 48 hours in Tokyo
Ginza absolutely the best place to stay in Tokyo, Japan. Stay here to be near the best of EVERYTHING!
Ginza is close to fantastic restaurants, shopping, knife stores, the Imperial Palace and more!
We landed in Tokyo on a beautiful late spring afternoon. We'll spend 2 and a half days here dining, riding Street Karts (don't you dare call them Mario Karts!) visiting the Imperial Palace Gardens and shopping for knives.
We did our Duo Lingo to master a few key Japanese phrases, and we were ready to GO! We also watched several helpful ‎@TabiEats videos as well!
We stayed in a standard king bed room at the AC Hotel Ginza, part of the Marriott hotel chain. Our son had a standard double room across the hall. Our hotel stay included 1 day of free breakfast but it's not automatically included.
After checking in we headed out to Gonpachi restaurant, the inspiration behind a famous fight scene in Kill Bill. While this restaurant inspired the look, the actual scene was about in China. It was shown in black and white in the film to avoid an NC-17 rating.
Back out on the street after dinner we wen to Shibuya Scramble Crossing the busiest pedestrian Crossing in the world. Lits of shopping to do once you cross the street. We went to Uniqlo and Don Quijote
The next day my husband and son did a Street Cart tour they would highly recommend. I took a walk around the neighborhood while I waited for them but there was not a lot to see.
Next up was the Imperial Palace and the East Garden an absolutely spectacular place to visit.
Kappabashi Kitchen Street is a must visit for cooking enthusiasts. My son and I both purchased knives while we were there
We spent quite a bit of time in Tokyo Station before we hopped on the Shinkansen bullet train to Osaka. Hot and/or cold soba noodles were our choices for breakfast. We were there quite early, about 8:30 am) but there was a ramen restaurant open as well. We'll cover Osaka in the next video so stay tuned for that!

As a plus size Black travel influencer over 50 I was a bit concerned about this trip to Japan. I wondered if the bathrooms would be too small to accommodate me (they were fine).
I was excited to meet other black travelers and expats including a retired U.S. Army veteran out knife shopping. She is studying to become a sushi chef for her next act.
Please let me know if you have any questions about our trip. Leave a comment and I'll answer some of them in an upcoming video.

I received one yesterday and when I turned it on first time to toast bread, it sparked badly inside and smelled bad. Also I would have sent it packing even if it wasn’t defective because it is impossible to control the time, temperature and heat with the dials. This is not a contender for a good toaster oven and air fryer. It is an expensive joke appliance.

Mine was a lemon, it never came to pressure on the OL701. I have learned since purchasing this 2 weeks ago this can be an issue with some of the cookers in this model. We feel fortunate, Ninja is being really good, shipping is paid back and refunding 100%. Our experience does not stop us from purchasing from this company. I am awaiting the 2 in 1 lid Ninja pressure cooker/ air fryer. I am just going to miss that temperature probe, that’s what pulled me to it.

The staining on LC is a pain to get rid of. Your pot is essentially useless once you chip the interior of a LC. With Staub, there is: no chipping on the interior, the more you use, the better the nonstick coating gets, the dots work really well for tenderising meats, it can be used at high oven temps without concern for chipping/damage, and the high walls on the cocotte are great for multiuse (frying, baking, stewing, etc). The durability alone on Staube is unmatched. You may need different LCs to do different things, but you need only 1 staub for all your cooking needs.

    • @sweetsavant
      @sweetsavant 7 днів тому

Thank you for your feedback. I haven't had a problem with chipping on either Staub or Le Creuset. I have found that both can stain but it's easy to see on Le Creuset, much more difficult to see on Staubs dark interior. The stains haven't affected my cooking results on either pan. Both are fantastic products and you really can't go wrong with either.

I prefer the cabbage softer... you might try low instead of high pressure to keep them from splitting open rather than lowering the time? ... and less liquid. Unless you want it for stock broth. I like the Ninja the way it browned was a lot better. Didn't they tell you to go to the website to get recipes and manual with Instant? That's what they did when I bought one. Honestly I think it was over done and had too much water in the Instant pot.

OMG the wastefulness. Just do things properly and you won't have an issue. Who uses paper towel to wash dishes? Why so much water? Why so much soap??? Why make the mess in the first place when the company says you have to check on the water level and there is access to pour more water in. This video is nuts.

My oven broke down and I was looking into other options till I can get it fixed. This was on sale at the time and I almost bought it but decided not to in the end, and now I regret not buying it. How much heat does it give off, and from where? I got a foodi, but it blows out a bit of heat from the back so I have to have it sitting sideways, and for some reason it makes my fire alarm go off almost every time I use it (from the first time I used my Foodi I could be just preheating it a few minutes and my alarm goes off).
